A Global Youth Video Call

    HOME. NEIGHBORHOODS. WORK.
    A Global Youth Video Call

What makes us who we are? Our families, our neighborhoods, our schools, our jobs — they all shape the people we become.

These places are also where human capital is built. Our health, knowledge, and skills grow through the care we receive at home, the opportunities we find in our communities, and the experiences we gain at work.

These environments shape opportunity, inclusion, and the pathways for people to reach their potential.

Now, here's where you come in!

As the World Bank Group gets ready to launch a new report grounded in these insights, we’re turning the spotlight on you.

Your story. Your voice. Your vision for the future.

You know best what goes on in your home, community, city, and country. You know how these places have shaped your journey.

    People, Camera, Action!

Are you 18–30 years old? Have access to a phone or a camera? And do you have something to say? Then you’re good to go.

We invite you to make a 1-minute video, in any style you want. All we ask is that your video focuses on one of the three key environments that enable human capital: home, neighborhood, or work.

Pick one and tell us your story:

    • HOME – How has your home or family environment helped you grow? What early experiences, care, or learning shaped who you are today?
    • NEIGHBORHOOD – How has your community influenced your opportunities? What role have schools, mentors, or local spaces played in your development?
    • WORK – How has your job, internship, or skill-building experience in a workplace helped you prepare for the future? What opportunities or challenges do young people face at work today?
Your video can be filmed with a phone or with professional equipment. It can be an interview, an animation, stop-motion, a mini-documentary, or something entirely different. Only you know the best way to get your message across. Surprise us!

    What’s in it for you?

The top videos will be featured on the World Bank social media, the Human Capital Report website, and during the global report launch early next year, reaching audiences around the world.
